Beef Innovator of the Year Silver Award– British Farming Awards (2018). As one of five finalists nationwide, we were recognized for our commitment to animal welfare certification by grazing our Red Poll cattle on Cambridge's historic Midsummer Common. This initiative not only brings sustainable food to the local community but also highlights conservation grazing right in the heart of the city while producing premium beef.

We are part of a network of over 70 Cambridge-based conservation organisations committed to protecting local biodiversity. Our efforts in conservation grazing, which utilize Red Poll cattle, connect us to a broader community of researchers and practitioners in the region, all while promoting sustainable food practices in Cambridge and aligning with animal welfare certification standards.

Featured in the Cambridge Sustainable Food directory, we connect local people with sustainable food producers and businesses, including those committed to animal welfare certification and practices, such as the Red Poll cattle, all working towards a healthier, fairer food system across Cambridge and the surrounding area.

Our Red Poll cattle are certified by the Pasture-Fed Livestock Association, which ensures they are raised entirely on grass and pasture. Each certified farm undergoes rigorous independent audits that adhere to strict animal welfare certification standards, focusing on animal welfare, natural diet, and pasture management. This approach not only supports healthier soil and wildlife but also contributes to the production of higher quality, nutrient-rich meat, promoting sustainable food practices in Cambridge.

As members of the Rare Breeds Survival Trust, the UK charity dedicated to protecting native livestock breeds from extinction, we prioritize animal welfare certification in our practices. Our Red Poll cattle are an essential part of this rich heritage, and our sustainable farming efforts in Cambridge help ensure these traditional breeds flourish for generations to come.

In a July 2018 New York Times article titled 'Parks Give Cambridge a Rural Vibe. But Cows Do It Better,' we were highlighted for our role in promoting sustainable food in Cambridge through the tradition of common grazing. The article emphasized how our Red Poll cattle contribute to maintaining this centuries-old practice while also aligning with principles of animal welfare certification.
